There are numerous clubs and bars such as Burkhart's and Blake's, as well as club Opera which is a little more upscale than most other clubs in the area. There are literally tons of gay-friendly places around town where you can eat, catch a movie (drive-in or theatre style!) and many more options. The city boasts lots of museums and exhibits that are open every day except for holidays such as the High Museum of Art, Fernbank, and the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. For you more musically-inclined sweeties out there, there are smaller venues such as 10 High and The Earl, and the Darkhorse Tavern.

Atlanta is home to one of the largest GLBTQ communities in the United States, and is very much culturally alive, featuring shows at the world-famous Fox theatre-but you had better find tickets before you just show up since most shows sell out relatively fast. During the warmer months, Stone Mountain has ice skating and the laser show at night, and if you don't mind a little outer city limits living, you can also enjoy White Water or Six Flags Over Georgia if you can catch the right weather. Piedmont park is always a mecca for plenty of gay-friendly activities such as the Dogwood Festival in the spring and of course our enormous Pride festival in October.

For more gender-specific activities, there is My Sister' Room which is very much geared towards the Lesbian lifestyle, and The Eagle, The Heretic, and Swinging Richard's for the gay men out there. Mary's bar provides a gay karaoke atmosphere as well as some amazing drag shows for gays, lesbians, and transgendered patrons. For one of the most unique drag show experiences out there, you can definitely count on Charlie Brown's Cabaret for an interesting time.
